7-a-side football goal

The dimensions and specifications of 7-a-side football goals are usually as follows:

Dimensions

Width: Usually 5 metres, i.e. 5 metres between the two posts. There are also claims that the width of a 7-a-side football goal is 3.6 metres, but this is less common and the more common width is 5 metres.

Height: The common height is 2 metres, with claims also made for 2.2 metres or 2.44 metres. Of these, the 2 metre height applies to smaller playing surfaces, such as 7-a-side football matches in schools; the 2.2 metre height may be found in some specific rules or venues; and the 2.44 metre height is the same as the height of an 11-a-side football goal, but is not common in 7-a-side football.

Front-to-back distance: generally 1.6 metres, i.e. the distance between the front and back of the goal is 1.6 metres. However, this dimension may be adjusted due to specific match rules or field conditions.

Specification

Material: 7-a-side football goals are usually made of metal (e.g. steel tubing) to ensure stability and durability. High-strength plastic materials are also used, but relatively rarely.

Structure: It consists of two upright goal posts connected with a horizontal crossbar whose lower edge is at a certain height from the ground. The width and thickness of the goal posts and transom should be equal and should not exceed a certain size (e.g. 12cm) to ensure the stability and safety of the goal.

Colour: The goal posts and transoms are usually white to facilitate identification by players and referees.

Fixing: The goal must be securely fixed to the field and may be fixed by means of ground spikes (or anchors, screws, etc.). Mobile goals may also be used if stability requirements are met.
